The De Queen Mena Educational Co-operative’s\Foster Grandparent Program recently donated food to local blessing boxes at Howard Memorial Hospital, Husqvarna and Cornerstone Counseling.\
Participants also donated food items for Nashville Primary School’s backpack program.\
This was part of their 911 Service Project, which is an annual event of the Americorps Seniors Program to give back to local communities.\
Donations will be made at other schools in the DMESC coop area as\ well.
Twenty-three senior adults serve in the local program at Nashville Pre-K, Nashville Primary School and at Rainbow Learning Center, mentoring and tutoring students. Seventy-three adults serve in the DMESC area.
