Foster Grandparent Program assists with local food effort

The De Queen Mena Educational Co-operative’s\Foster Grandparent Program recently donated food to local blessing boxes at Howard Memorial Hospital, Husqvarna and Cornerstone Counseling.\ 

Participants also donated food items for Nashville Primary School’s backpack program.\ 

This was part of their 911 Service Project, which is an annual event of the Americorps Seniors Program to give back to local communities.\ 

Donations will be made at other schools in the DMESC coop area as\ well.

Twenty-three senior adults serve in the local program at Nashville Pre-K, Nashville Primary School and at Rainbow Learning Center, mentoring and tutoring students. Seventy-three adults serve in the DMESC area.
