WASHINGTON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A former Washington Parish teacher was arrested on Friday following an investigation into reported child sexual abuse.
According to District Attorney Collin Sims and the Franklinton Police Department, 29-year-old Darbie Colette Smith was arrested after four months of investigation revealed that she had allegedly committed multiple child sex crimes.
Smith faces the following charges:
- 80 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
- One count of computer aided solicitation.
- One count of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
- Two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
