TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A former Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center Jail guard accused of having inappropriate communications with a juvenile inmate has been arrested.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that an investigation was launched after staff at the facility were made aware of alleged unauthorized communications between 28-year-old Taylor Johnson and a 17-year-old inmate.
TPSO officials said the communications allegedly contained inappropriate content.
Through an investigation, TPSO detectives said they determined that Johnson and the 17-year-old did not have any physical contact.
According to the TPSO, “Johnson admitted to the lewd communication and was placed under arrest.”
Johnson had reportedly been employed at the facility since August and was terminated from her position.
Johnson was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 29, and faces charges of obscenity and malfeasance in office.
