CHICAGO — A Chicago firefighter was rescued after he became trapped while battling a fire on the city’s Northwest Side Friday morning.
Firefighters responded to an apartment building in the 2000 block of West Thomas in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood.
Firefighters on the scene said the firefighter that was rescued is conscious and appeared to be ok. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
He has been a firefighter for about seven years.
Initial reports indicate the firefighter was on the third floor when the incident occurred.
No official information on the fire has been released.
So far there are no reports of additional injuries.
