Bruno Fernandes celebrated a milestone at the weekend as the midfielder recorded his 50th assist in the Premier League.
The Manchester United captain has been one of the Premier League’s most productive players since his arrival at Old Trafford, with 112 goal involvements in 182 games.
Fernandes has also become just the sixth player to reach 50 Premier League assists for Manchester United, joining an illustrious list.

Fernandes reached a half-century of Premier League assists with two in Sunday’s 3-0 win at Leicester. The Portugal international has been a shining light in an otherwise difficult period for Manchester United since his arrival in January 2020.
He has now recorded 175 goal contributions in all competitions for the club and last week set a new record for the most goals and assists in Europa League history (41).

Eric Cantona – 51 assists
Eric Cantona’s arrival at Manchester United is often cited as the catalyst for the club’s transformation into a title-winning machine. Signed from rivals Leeds United in November 1992, he arrived with the Red Devils eighth in the Premier League. By the end of the campaign, United had won their first league title in 26 years.
Cantona was the driving force of a side that won four titles in five seasons, winning the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 1993/94 and the FWA Footballer of the Year in 1995/96.
Paul Scholes – 55 assists
Paul Scholes recorded 55 assists during his one-club career at Manchester United. Part of the fabled ‘Class of ’92’, Scholes emerged from the academy ranks to become a club great.
He made 718 appearances for the Red Devils and won a record 11 league titles for an English player. One of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
David Beckham – 80 assists
Has there been a better crosser of a ball in Premier League history? Unlikely.
A set-piece specialist, David Beckham was the league’s leading assist provider three times in four seasons between 1997 and 2001. During that time, he was twice named runner-up for the FIFA World Player of the Year award, including during the club’s 1998/99 treble-winning season.
Wayne Rooney – 93 assists
Wayne Rooney is the only footballer in Premier League history to have scored 200+ goals and provided 100+ assists.
Rooney recorded 93 of his assists during a record-breaking career at Manchester United. Signed from Everton as the hottest teenage talent in Europe in 2004, he spent over a decade with the club and became Manchester United’s record scorer, eclipsing Sir Bobby Charlton.
Only Ryan Giggs, Kevin De Bruyne and Cesc Fabregas have notched more Premier League assists than Rooney.
Ryan Giggs – 162 assists
Ryan Giggs holds the Premier League record for assists having created 162 goals during an illustrious one-club career with Manchester United.
Giggs broke into the side as a teenager and spent more than two decades as a first-team fixture, with the Welsh winger an ever-present during a dynasty of dominance under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Giggs is the most decorated player in British football history, having won a barely believable 13 league titles during his time at Old Trafford.
