NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The week begins with quiet and pleasant weather, but changes could be on the horizon as the forecast becomes more uncertain midweek.
Through Tuesday, expect sunny skies, dry conditions, and slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures. Highs will stay in the 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-30s to 40s.
A weak front will move through tonight, keeping conditions stable but not significantly cooler. Another reinforcing front on Monday night into Tuesday could bring a brief shot of drier air.
Depending on how far south it reaches, some areas could experience light freezing temperatures early Tuesday or Wednesday morning. However, lows in the mid-30s to 40s are more likely for most of the region.
The second half of the week is where things get interesting. A storm system is expected to develop near the U.S.-Mexico border, shifting the weather pattern over the Gulf Coast. By late Wednesday or Thursday, rain chances will increase, with cooler and potentially wetter conditions persisting into the weekend.
