Just two days after entering the transfer portal, Husky freshman Dominique Diomande reportedly found a new home with the BYU men’s basketball team.
The Cougars signed Diomande on Saturday night, according to On3.
Losing Diomande ends a fruitless three-month stint with the Huskies that began Dec. 21 when he joined the team as a walk-on.
The 6-foot-7 forward, who is considered a 2026 NBA prospect, redshirted without ever playing a game at Washington.
Prior to his brief UW tenure, the 19-year-old Diomande, who is originally from the Ivory Coast, played professionally in France. In 26 contests with ADA Blois of the France-ProA U21 league during the 2023-24 season, he averaged 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 51.9% from the field.
Diomande is the fourth Husky to enter the portal following Jase Butler, Christian King and KC Ibekwe.
Freshman guard Vazoumana Diallo and fifth-year center Franck Kepnang are the only UW players currently committed to return next season while junior guard Mekhi Mason and sophomore guard Tyler Harris are undecided.
The Huskies are linked to Rutgers center Lathan Sommerville, who is reportedly visiting this weekend. Washington is also reportedly interested in Temple forward Dillon Battie, UCF guard Keyshawn Hall, Toledo guard Sam Lewis and California forward BJ Omot.
The transfer portal closes April 22.
