Dentsu and Publicis Groupe battled for supremacy at this years’s Campaign’s Agency of the Year Greater China awards. The Japanese-based network scooped 21 metals overall, more than any other agency on the night at the gala held in Shanghai.

Meanwhile, Zenith China walked away with the top gong for China Media Agency of the Year, swiping it from previous winner Mindshare, as well as winning Silver for China Digital Innovation Agency of the Year. It was a strong showing overall for Publicis Media agencies Zenith and Starcom across Greater China.
While Weber Shandwick won Gold for China PR Agency of the Year, Publicis Groupe’s MSL scored a double triumph, winning Gold for both Hong Kong PR Agency of the Year and Taiwan PR Agency of the Year. MSL’s Hong Kong office also won Gold for Greater China Social Media Agency of the Year.
It was a solid year for Leo Burnett who this year clinched the most Golds. The creative powerhouse won Gold in five categories: Taiwan Creative Agency of the Year, Greater China Agency Marketer Partnership of the Year, Greater China CSR Achievement of the Year, Greater China Customer Engagement Agency of the Year, and Greater China Integrated Marketing Agency of the Year. Leo Burnett also took Silver for China Creative Agency of the Year.
DDB won the Creative title for Hong Kong
For the Media Agency of the Year, Zenith won Gold for China, while OMD took Gold in Hong Kong and iProspect (photo below) took the crown in Taiwan. For the Digital Innovation Agency of the Year title, Monks reigned supreme in China, while Starcom won Gold in both Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Weber Shandwick scooped two Golds for China PR Agency of the Year and Greater China Best Culture, while also winning the award for Greater China’s Best Place to Work.
People: MSL and Dentsu talent dominate
Both Dentsu and MSL dominated the list in the people categories. The award for Account Person of the Year was won by MSL’s China office (Ming Liu) with commendation going to Denstu China (Cindy Lu).
Agency Head of the Year: MSL also triumphed with this award, with the PR giant’s China office once again reigning supreme with a win for Liza Zhang.
Creative Leader of the Year: Another win for Dentsu who have retained the title from last year. The win went to Dentsu Taiwan’s Alice Chou. As chief creative officer for the agency, Chou has been instrumental in driving their creative success, helping the agency to bag its first Cannes Lion back in 2017 and winning top honours at numerous creative awards shows thereafter.
Agency Growth Leader of the Year: The win went to Sandy Shan Yu Wu of Publicis Communications Shanghai, recognised for her work in helping to achieve double-digit business growth for the agency in 2024. Commendation went to Kara Yang of TBWA\Media Arts Lab Shanghai.
Young Achiever of the Year: Jiayu Cao, for Havas Creatice China, took home the gong. Cao also won Gold at the Young Lions China competition earlier this year.
Young Business Leader of the Year: Alice Wang, of Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai, took the win.
Strategic/Brand Planner of the Year: Adrian Tso of DDB Hong Kong was awarded the gong. Tso was recognised in Campaign Asia’s 40 under 40 list this year after being promoted from head of strategy to chief strategy officer, his fifth promotion in nine years. Commendation went to Dentsu China’s Takeshi Nakano.
Young Creative Person of the Year: No winner at this year’s awards, but commendation was given to Thirteen Wu of BBH China.
