Delmonico’s, the famed steakhouse in Manhattan’s Financial District, is partnering with Glen Cove-based Elegant Affairs Catering. With this new collaboration, Delmonico’s by Elegant Affairs offers off-site catering for corporate gatherings and celebratory events across New York City and Long Island.
Founded more than 185 years ago, Delmonico’s was the first restaurant to be reviewed by The New York Times, according to published reports. The restaurant is also credited with inventing baked Alaska and chicken a la Keene, a poultry dish featuring cream sauce, sherry, mushrooms and vegetables. Charles Dickens dined at Delmonico’s, as did the Rockefellers.
With the new collaboration, offerings include the Delmonico steak, lobster Newberg, wedge salad, and baked Alaska. Also available are individualized baked Alaska, mini Maine crab cakes, baked Alaska milkshakes and a “steak experience” dinner station with three different cuts of steak, caramelized bacon and dinner sides.
“We are excited to partner with Elegant Affairs to bring the Delmonico’s experience to more people,” Carin Sarafian, of Delmonico’s Restaurant Group private dining and business development, said in a news release about the partnership. “This partnership allows us to combine Delmonico’s historic culinary reputation and Elegant Affairs’ expertise in event planning and catering, creating a remarkable experience for guests.”
As part of the collaboration, Delmonico’s by Elegant Affairs offers full management of catering and event details. This includes finding the venue, crafting a personalized menu and managing all aspects of an event such as party rentals, event services, vendors and staffing.
“This catering partnership boasts a rich legacy in hospitality and a wealth of experience, ensuring that special events will not only be irresistibly delicious, but also visually stunning and well executed,” Andrea Correale, president of Elegant Affairs, said in the news release.
“Delmonico’s is always evolving and staying innovative and current in all aspects of the restaurant,” Dennis Turcinovic, managing partner and owner of Delmonico’s Restaurant Group, said in the news release. “But even with changes and new menus and new offerings, Delmonico’s always honors its past. Off-premise catering service allows us to share the restaurant’s culinary heritage and iconic dishes with a wider audience throughout New York.”
