A 55-year-old man has died after a motorcycle crash in the City of Gorton late Friday night, police said.
According to police, the motorcyclist was riding on Poquonnock Road when the single-vehicle crash was reported around 11:30 p.m. The unidentified man was rushed to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for further treatment of his injuries. However, police said he later died at the hospital from his injuries.
The Regional Accident Reconstruction Team, which consists of City Police, Ledyard, Stonington, and the Town of Groton Police Department members, is investigating the crash. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Groton City Police Department. No further information was released by police.
