LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington Parks and Recreation Department held the Dias de los Muertos or Day of the Dead event at the Moondance Amphitheater.
The event began at 5 and lasted until 9.
Everyone was invited to come out and enjoy traditional Latin dances, eat food and learn more about the Day of the Dead.
Casa de la Cultura partnered with Park and Rec to help with the event.
Hundreds of people made it out to enjoy the festival.
“This is kind of the end of the event season, we’re getting into the colder months but that doesn’t stop anybody,” said Jessica Shaw with Parks and Rec. “It’s one of the most beautiful events to see a mixture of people, a mixture of backgrounds all coming together to enjoy this beautiful holiday.”
People were also to shop with vendors. make some art and vote for their favorite ofrenda.
