Daviess County issued a Burn ban Tuesday.
Daviess County joins Martin and Sullivan Counties in issuing a burn ban, which means open burning is prohibited including burning of vegetation, brush, non-contained wood or timber and building construction material.
Campfires and recreational fires are allowed if contained in a burn ring or fire pit.
Gas and charcoal grills are allowed.
If using charcoal, it must be fully extinguished when finished.
Burn barrels are allowed with a wire mesh screen with quarter inch or less openings from dawn to dusk only.
The latest report from the Indiana Drought Monitor shows most of southern Indiana is abnormally dry.
