Crash involving multiple semitrailers, cars shuts down part of I-35

PFLUGERVILLE (KXAN) — Part of I-35 is closed Tuesday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash. According to the Department of Public Safety, it responded to the crash around 12:15 a.m on I-35 southbound at Grand Avenue Parkway.

DPS says five semitrailers and two passenger cars are involved. Traffic is currently being diverted onto McNeil Road in Round Rock, and the road is likely to stay closed into the morning commute.

DPS confirmed with KXAN that people were hurt but did not have any more details.

It is unclear what caused the crash.
