A special election this week was announced to fill the South Carolina House seat for District 113, formerly held by Representative Marvin Pendarvis. Today, Courtney Waters (pictured) announced her candidacy for the position.
For the past four years, Waters has served on the Charleston County School Board, where she has worked to improve education. As a mother and resident of District 113, she is intimately familiar with the challenges facing the district, and she is ready to roll up her sleeves and fight for its future.
In her campaign announcement video, Waters emphasizes her belief in the power and tenacity of the people of District 113. She says she is committed to addressing critical issues such as affordable housing, equitable funding for North Charleston, and environmental sustainability.
