METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Christmas in the Park is returning to Jefferson Parish this holiday season!
Jefferson Parish officials said the fun will kick off at Lafreniere Park for a 38th year on Sunday, Dec. 1.
Attendees can expect to see the park decorated with more than 10 million LED lights and displays with classics like Marvel and DC Comics and a new display celebrating the 200th anniversary of Jefferson Parish.
Other themes are set to include Minions, Disney princesses, Star Wars, Peanuts and more.
Additionally, organizers said attendees will also be able to see Santa’s Express Mail Center, which will feature Santa’s elves making toys, as well as appearances from popular Christmas characters like Santa, Rudolph and Frosty.
Parish officials said the character appearances will be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Walking and driving tours will be available. The event will take place nightly from Dec. 1 through Dec. 30. For more information, visit the Lafreniere Park website.
