Child injured after being hit by vehicle near Weisser Park Elementary School

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A child is in non-life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle near Weisser Park Elementary School.

Officers responded to the area of Smith Street and Colerick Street after receiving reports of someone being struck by a vehicle, just after 3 p.m. The intersection is just a block away from Weisser Park Elementary School.

Fort Wayne Community Schools confirmed it was a child who was struck, but could not provide any further information.
