ST. LOUIS – Clouds have held on overnight, especially closer to the Mississippi River and into Illinois, and that has kept temperatures a little bit warmer than expected.
Still, out the door temperatures Tuesday will be cold, around 20 F. Skies will gradually clear through the day. Afternoon highs will be in the low 30s.
As the center of high pressure slides off to the southeast of St. Louis, southerly winds will return, bringing a short-lived warmup. Temperatures Tuesday evening will fall into the 20s, but then start to rise overnight.
We’ll wake up Wednesday in the mid-30s and see highs close to 50 F. Wednesday will be a breezy day with wind gusts to 30 mph. A cold front late Wednesday will bring back much colder temps, but it looks like that front comes through dry.
Let’s keep an eye out for areas that may be prone to a refreeze of the melted snow from Wednesday. We expect highs on Thursday to return to the 20s.
We will warm back up into the weekend. 30s for highs Friday and 40s and 50s for the weekend. The next rain chance moves in for Monday.
