BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Center for Courageous Kids held their signature fundraiser on Saturday.
Stars and Six Strings brought in donations with silent and live auctions, music, a bourbon raffle and a dinner.
The event also brought awareness to the nonprofit that provides summer camps and family retreat weekends for children with serious illnesses that would prevent them from enjoying similar activities elsewhere.
President and CEO of CCK, Darren Dannelly, says, “We want every camper to grow in confidence, gained independence and meet their new best friend. It truly is a place where every child can feel like they belong for the first time for some children.”
The Center for Courageous Kids never charges the families for these activities, and that only possible because of events like this.
This was the fifth year for Stars and Six Strings, which is the largest fundraiser for the center.
