On Tuesday, April 15, starting at 2 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual (online) public hearing to discuss the possible disposition of 14 parking spaces at the Colesville Commuter Lot, located at 13504 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in partnership with a private developer. The public parking lot has a total of 190 spaces. The developer will provide 4 DC fast charging EV stations open to the public which will expand the EV infrastructure for the area.
In accordance with County regulation, a preliminary reuse analysis of the property at 13504 New Hampshire Avenue was conducted by MCDOT and the Office of Management and Budget. It was determined that the property is not identified for reuse in an applicable Master Plan or approved Capital Improvement Project (CIP).
Online registration is required by 5 p.m., Friday, April 11, to attend. The day before the hearing, an email with a Zoom link will be sent to registrants. Written testimony carries the same weight as oral testimony. Testimony and information provided will become a matter of public record.
