After the disappointment of the T20 World Cup, India would hope to get back to winning ways in their first home series in 2023. They have selected a 16-man squad for the series, with Hardik Pandya as captain and Suryakumar Yadav as vice-captain. Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad have also been included, with Mukesh Kumar and Shivam Mavi being handed their maiden national call-ups.

There are also gigs for Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson and Umran Malik, all of whom will be looking to strengthen their respective T20I credentials.
Sri Lanka will pose a tough challenge. The Islanders are the defending Asia Cup champions and have an array of top cricketers at their disposal, including captain Dasun Shanaka, wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis, ace all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, and top-order bludgeoner Bhanuka Rajapaksa. They will hope to give a good account of themselves and power Sri Lanka to victory, alongside Maheesh Theekshana, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara.
The series begins on January 3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The caravan then moves to Pune before the final T20I in Rajkot on January 7. These T20Is will then be followed by three ODIs, which will start on January 10 and culminate on January 15.
