Wes Scantlin, lead singer of the rock group Puddle of Mudd, was arrested on March 11 in the Torrance area, according to multiple media reports.
Los Angeles County jail records showed that the 52-year-old was booked into the Torrance City Jail on a felony and was released on bail on March 15.
According to People, Scantlin is facing domestic violence and drug charges after an alleged dispute with his girlfriend.
TMZ reported it was around 3 a.m. when police responded to a call for a fight between the singer and his girlfriend at an apartment.
“We’re told when officers arrived, they talked to Wes and his girlfriend and determined the couple got into a verbal argument that at one point, allegedly turned physical,” said the report.
According to TMZ’s sources, police purportedly saw marks on the woman’s arms and arrested Scantlin.
While searching the musician, TMZ said police found a small amount of a controlled substance.
Details are limited, and officials did not immediately reveal the girlfriend’s identity or any further details on her health status.
In addition, the Torrance Police Department has not confirmed these reports or provided additional details as of Monday afternoon.
This arrest comes after Scantin’s last booking, which happened in August 2024 after a standoff with police and SWAT members in Burbank.
