Detroit’s planned 313 Day music festival has seen another last-minute change.
According to organizers, the event scheduled for Friday has been moved from the Masonic Temple to the Eastern, an events space in Eastern Market.
“THE SHOW MUST GO ON,” the organizers wrote in an Instagram post, with the caption, “Thanks For Your Patience.”
The concert has a hip-hop lineup with acts like Babyface Ray, Boldy James, Detroit Diamond, Doughboyz Cashout, Icewear Vezzo, Lana Ladonna, Sada Baby, Tee Grizzley, and others.
The relocated show is scheduled for 7 p.m. to midnight.
Organizers did not immediately respond to a request from Metro Times for comment.
It’s the latest snag for the local music fest, which was to include an R&B festival on Thursday, March 13, followed by the hip-hop show on Friday. But on Wednesday, organizers announced the R&B show had been postponed “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
In a previous interview with Metro Times, organizers said they wanted to grow the 313 Day festival “into our own version of Coachella in Detroit.” The event launched in 2022 at the Garden Theater drawing some 1,000 fans, followed by a “Tied in 313 Day” event at the Fillmore in 2023 with some 2,500 attendees. The event took a year off in 2024.
The Masonic Temple has a capacity of about 4,600, while the Eastern can hold about 600. The Eastern was known for hosting weddings and corporate events before it started holding concerts in 2022.
The Eastern is located at 3434 Russell St., Detroit.
