HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The City of Huntsville has announced it has a new director of inspection.
The city announced Thursday that the city council approved Allen Muzny as the new head of the city inspection department.
City officials said Muzny brings 30 years of experience to the job. He originally joined the city’s inspection department in 2017 and most recently served as deputy director of inspection service. Before that, he worked for 23 years as a code official and senior plans examiner in Madison County.
“With his experience and insight, Allen was a natural choice as the City’s next Director of Inspection,” Mayor Tommy Battle said. “We are excited to see him step into this pivotal role of serving Huntsville residents.”
Muzny is a native of Madison County and said he is honored to take up his new role.
“It’s a privilege to accept the appointment as the City’s Director of Inspection,” Muzny said. “I’m eager to contribute to the success and growth of our beautiful city and honored by the confidence placed in me by Mayor Battle and the City Council. I look forward to serving the people of Huntsville.”
