One of the candidates for Secretary of the Indiana Democratic Party is dropping out of the race.
Indy Politics has learned that long-time Democrat Rick Sutton is quitting the race.
Sources tell us members of the State Central Committee had major concerns about a felony conviction in Sutton’s past.
We are told they were concerned that they could not attack Donald Trump for being a convicted felon while at the same time naming one as party Secretary.
Sutton’s departure leaves three candidates remaining: Jason Critchlow, Erin Retif and James Wells.
A vote will take place this weekend.
