The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Very chilly out there this morning! Actual temperatures will be in the 20’s for most of the day – but taking consistent, blustery winds into effect, it will feel more like the teens.
Most of us are dry and actually quite bright through the day. We do expect a band of lake effect snow, however, to develop this afternoon and bring several inches to parts of Herkimer and Fulton counties. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for those spots, as roads could get slippery.
That lake effect snow will fizzle midday Saturday. After sunset, however, we’ll all see rounds of light to moderate snow overnight and into Sunday morning.
Quieter and milder for Sunday afternoon, with highs near 40. We expect mostly rain in the valleys on Monday with similar high temperatures.
We’re even warmer with more rain showers for Tuesday and Wednesday – on these day, snow will be confined to the highest mountaintops. Not to worry, winter weather lovers – cooler temperatures and festive flurries return Thursday.
