A fire tore through a carport at an apartment building in the San Fernando Valley early Thursday morning, destroying several vehicles, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said that the blaze was first reported at 4:10 a.m. at 12940 W Burbank Boulevard in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Sherman Oaks.
According to the department, the fire destroyed as many as six vehicles in the parking lot of a two-story garden-style apartment building.

Images captured by KTLA at the scene showed several cars that were destroyed by the blaze, including a couple that were virtually unrecognizable.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
The cause remained under investigation as of 7 a.m.
No additional details were immediately made available.
