DENVER (KDVR) — There will be plenty of sunshine for Thanksgiving across the state, however, it will be a chilly holiday in most places with below-average temperatures.

Weather today: Sunny but cool Thanksgiving
There will be plenty of sunshine on Thanksgiving, but there will be a few high clouds from time to time. The wind will stay light and chilly from a northern direction.
Temperatures will warm into the 30s and 40s, about 10 degrees below normal for Denver at this time of year.

Weather tonight: Clear skies and cold air
The skies remain clear overnight as lows sink into the upper teens nearing 20 degrees. Winds will be out of the southwest anywhere from 5-10 mph.

Looking ahead: Plenty of sunshine and mild temps
The outlook for the week looks dry and quiet. High pressure will set up to bring mainly sunny days in the afternoon.
The recent snow should melt away over the weekend, except in places along the Front Range that received about a half foot.

Temperatures are expected to slowly rise through the more seasonal 40s over the weekend and reach the milder 50s by early next week. It is possible that there could be a 60-degree temperature in metro Denver by midweek.
