The Warehouse District will once again transform into a festive wonderland as the Running of the Santas, presented by Surfside Iced Tea Vodka and Lemonades, returns on Saturday, December 14th. This lively and irreverent holiday celebration invites revelers to don their most creative Christmas-inspired costumes and join the fun in one of the city’s most unique holiday traditions.
A Day of Festive Revelry
The event kicks off at 2 PM at the South Pole located at Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant (701 Tchoupitoulas St.), where holiday cheer will abound. At 6 PM, participants will take to the streets for a holiday “Fun Run” through the Warehouse District, dashing toward the North Pole at Generations Hall (315 Andrew Higgins Blvd.).
At Generations Hall, the party continues with live music from New Orleans-based band Neutral Snap, keeping the holiday spirit alive well into the evening. With costumes ranging from classic Santa suits to outrageous Christmas-themed creations, the event promises a spectacle of festive creativity.
A Growing Holiday Tradition
The Running of the Santas has become one of New Orleans’ most anticipated holiday events, drawing thousands of participants each year from across the Gulf Coast. Organizers anticipate an even larger crowd for 2024 as attendees embrace the fun and festive atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind Christmastime celebration.
