NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a crash that claimed a man’s life over the weekend.
The crash reportedly happened Sunday, Nov. 24 at 8:11 p.m. on United States Highway 90B near Interstate 10 West.
An investigation done by the NOPD’s Fatality Section revealed a Ford F-250 pickup truck headed east on the interstate when he allegedly hit a pedestrian attempting to cross.
The man was taken to a hospital by EMS where he later died from his injuries.
NOPD officers said the driver was not charged in the crash but blood and alcohol test results are pending.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
