San Diego police asked for help Wednesday to identify a suspect in a series of restaurant burglaries, the latest which occurred two days ago in Tierrasanta.
The man is described as dark complected, aged 20 to 35. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.
Around 3 a.m. Monday, a man broke the front glass door of a Round Table Pizza, 10415 Tierrasanta Blvd. He used a sledgehammer to try and access the safe, but was unsuccessful.
He proceeded to the nearby Tutuli Mexican Eatery, 10425 Tierrasanta Blvd. and again broke out the front glass window to gain entry. This time he was able to break open the safe and took a large amount of cash.
Police are currently investigating an unspecified number of commercial burglaries with similar modus operandi. The other cases took place in the city’s eastern, northeastern and northwestern divisions.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Brian French from the Eastern Division at bfrench@pd.sandiego.gov or use the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
