(KRON) — If Reddit appears to be down for you, you’re apparently not the only one. According to the Downdetector website, reports of problems with the website and app spiked on Wednesday afternoon.
User reports were just about evenly divided with 51% of reported problems being with the website and 48% with the app. About 1% of users reported problems posting to the social media platform.
The outage, according to Downdetector, began around noon on Wednesday. On its status page, Reddit said the network was experiencing “degraded performance.”
“We are currently investigating the issue,” the network posted in an update.
When we tried to get onto Reddit from the KRON4.com newsroom, we received a “server error” message and were told to “Try again later.”
According to a report in Reuters, Reddit has deployed a fix for a software bug thought to be at the heart of the problem.
