BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s difficult being in emergency services, and it can put you in precarious situations, especially when working out in the public.
This work week is National Crash Responder Safety Week, a time for the country to appreciate and heed federal laws when it comes to our fellow citizens who work on the roadside.
News 40 spoke to Med Center EMS about safety concerns, telling us that even with all their years in service, working an accident can be a little worrisome. Proper etiquette and law dictates that when emergency vehicles are actively responding, to make way for them by pulling over to the right side of the road and slow your vehicle if able to allow them full range of the streets, but local responders say that doesn’t always happen.
