An Amtrak train fatally hit a pedestrian on the railway near Highway 61 and Bees Ferry Road, police say.

The Charleston Police Department posted a statement on social media just before 8:30 a.m. Nov. 16 alerting the public to the fatal collision. There will be no impacts to traffic, the post said.
No other information about the incident has been released. The identity of the pedestrian has not been made public.
