Don’t Forget It Is Veterans Day
If you thought this would be a good day to head to the DMV or the post office, you’re in for some serious disappointment…everything’s closed.
America marks Veterans Day today.
Government buildings and banks are closed. And there’s no mail delivery.
The National WWI Museum is hosting special commemorative events all day and veterans get to enter the museum for free. It’s half-price admission for everyone else.
Does Eric Schmitt Join Trump Team as AG
President-elect Donald Trump gets to work this week on assembling his new cabinet and administration team. Will there be some prominent Missouri politicians joining him in Washington?
Missouri U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt is a possible Attorney General pick, according to Politico and Congressional Quarterly.
Schmitt has become a close ally of the president. He earned a primetime speaking slot at the Republican National Convention and frequently appeared with Trump at his campaign rallies.

If Schmitt gets the nod, new Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe will get to pick his replacement, just weeks after taking office.
Also likely to join Team Trump is Missouri 6th District Congressman Sam Graves, who has confirmed he’s been approached about serving as Transportation Secretary.
While you rarely see Graves in the local and national news, he is chair of the influential House Transportation Committee, a position that gives him a unique perspective on the agency’s inner workings and challenges.
Lucas Considers His Future
Someone else contemplating their political future this week is Quinton Lucas.
The Kansas City mayor hitched his wagon closely to Team Kamala. For the past couple of months, he’s crisscrossed the country on behalf of the Harris campaign.
With the vice president’s defeat, did Lucas just lose the most promising pipeline to his next job?
For the first time, the Kansas City mayor is now opening up about his future plans. He told KCMO Talk Radio he would be open to accepting a top position with the DNC, the Democrat’s central organization that helps fundraise and coordinate campaigns.
Lucas is term-limited and cannot run for reelection. Kansas Citians will elect a new mayor in 2027.

We can talk all day about politics, but you know the Chiefs will continue to be the most talked about story around here.

Now only one remains, the Boulevard Drive-In in Kansas City, Kansas.
Some Big Music Names in Town?
I wanted to write the headline, “Some big music names take the stage in KC this week” but I didn’t realize I was entering a contentious debate. My young adult kids questioned whether some of the artists I was mentioning could be considered “big” at all. And in one case, they’d never even heard of them.
So I’m going to let you decide whether they’re a “big deal” or not. I’ll simply say the following acts are coming to the T-Mobile Center:
Billie Eilish is at T-Mobile Center on Saturday.
One of country music’s newest superstars, Jelly Roll will perform there on Wednesday night.
And Little Big Town is at T-Mobile Center on Thursday.
