LORETTO, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Saint Francis football player was found dead in his dorm on Monday, according to Cambria County Chief Deputy Coroner Joseph Hribar.
Kevon Walker, 18, of Buffalo, was found unresponsive in his dorm on Monday. Investigators noted that there were no signs of foul play and that the coroner’s office is waiting on toxicology and pathology reports before furthering the investigation.
Walker’s teammates told police that he had said he was “feeling ill” over the past few days, however, Hribar noted that the coroner’s office cannot comment on if that has anything to do with the student’s passing.
“Kevon was a larger-than-life presence in so many ways in our building,” said Principal Tom Coppola. “His graduation from Canisius High School was such a great day for he and his family, it was awesome on that day to see him so proud. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.”
The investigation is still active. The Cambria County Coroner’s Office and Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
