COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)– The Colonie Central girls lacrosse team is hosting its first alumni game on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The game will connect new team members with former players to showcase the growth and improvement of Colonie athletes over the years.
The alumni will face off against current players, with a possibility of an alumni-only scrimmage, dependent on the number of players. According to Lacrosse Coach Layne Woodard, the event is designed to honor the history of Colonie lacrosse, showcasing the talent and community support that has grown the program over the years.
“We wanted this game to be more than just a scrimmage,” Coach Layne Woodard said. “It’s a celebration of our program’s journey, our alumni’s contributions, and the support we have from the Colonie community. Our alumni will get to experience the new facilities and see how their legacy has helped shape today’s program.”
Those looking to join the game are asked to sign up through a Google form and sign a waiver for participating. A full roster will be announced closer to game day.
The game will begin at 6 p.m. on the high school turf field. For additional information or questions, email Woodard at woodardl@scolonie.org.
