KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs are working to finalize a trade that would send wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to Kansas City, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Chiefs’ need for a wide receiver has grown as injuries have piled up.
The Chiefs have needed wide receiver since Rashee Rice suffered a right knee injury in Week 4 that required surgery. In the preseason, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown suffered a shoulder injury, and last week, JuJu Smith-Schuster sustained a hamstring injury.
Hopkins is a 12-year NFL veteran and is in the final season of a two-year deal he signed with the Titans. During the offseason, he tore his MCL, but he recovered in time for the start of the season.
