NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As the clock ticks closer to showtime, more and more people from across the world will arrive in New Orleans ready to shake it off.
“We’re at 100% occupancy for Friday night and Saturday night. Sunday at about 80% and we look to see that climb,” New Orleans & Co. Associate Vice President MaryBeth Romig said.
Due to this massive crowd headed towards the city, local businesses are doing whatever they can to stand out and attract fans.
“All across the warehouse district, CBD, French quarter, all Swiftie themed; so if you can’t find something Swiftie to do, you’re not looking hard enough,” Romig said.
Sucré, a local patisserie in New Orleans, is one of the stores feeling the Swiftie mania, selling “Eras” themed petit fours targeted toward those Taylor Swift fans craving something sweet.
“We’re painting them all different colors and glittering them all different colors. It’s going to have a really nice décor to really look nice and resemble that Taylor Swift ‘Eras.’ It’s going to be awesome,” Sucré Director of Operations Boris Martinez said.
Martinez says Sucré is prepared for a very busy week.
“We try to gear up as much as possible and plan for all of these events. I mean, I’m talking weeks in advance, so this time is exciting. This is the time of the year it gets exciting because this is what we prepare for when we get to that slow time,” Martinez said.
