DENVER (KDVR) — The Regional Transportation District is looking to hear from people in the community as it fills the last six spots on the Citizens Advisory Committee.
RTD encourages anyone interested in public transit and community support to apply for one of the positions. The transit organization hopes members of the committee will come from diverse backgrounds, express a combination of different interests and work across a wide range of professions.
The six people will be part of a 17-member group that is responsible for conveying the community’s voice to RTD. They will advise RTD’s strategies, initiatives and transportation programs.
In order to be selected for the role, applicants must live within the RTD district, have previous experience in serving the community, display an interest in public transit and have worked with local jurisdictions on regional issues.
The group will meet monthly to discuss issues impacting the region and are able to work in support of the Citizens Advisory Committee outside of the meeting times.
People who are RTD employees, the immediate family of an RTD employee or elected officials will not be allowed to work on the committee. Current committee members, RTD Board Directors and RTD Board Office Staff will review the applications and suggest their preferred candidates for approval to the full RTD Board during the November Board of Directors meeting.
Members will serve a three-year term beginning in January 2025 and may be reappointed to an additional three-year term.
Potential applicants can find more information about about the Citizens Advisory Committee on the CAC Charter and CAC webpage.
Application forms can be found online or by contacting the RTD Board Office at rtd.boardoffice@rtd-denver.com or 303-299-2307.
Applications received after Oct. 25 at 11:59 p.m. will not be considered for approval.
