SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — People who live in North County can expect to hear the sound of explosions for much of the rest of the month, according to noise reports issued by Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
Noise advisories have been issued from Friday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 27 due to live-fire training with high explosive munitions, the base announced on X, formerly Twitter. According to Camp Pendleton’s latest noise report, similar events will be taking place this Saturday through Wednesday, Oct. 23.
The explosive munitions fire will start at 6 a.m. and end around midnight each day and may be heard up to 50 miles away depending on atmospheric conditions, the base said. The latest advisories can be found on the base’s website.
A noise complaint form, which is also available on the website, can be submitted to the office at Camp Pendleton via e-mail, fax, postal mail or in-person.
