NASHVILLE, TN. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Next Saturday’s matchup between Vanderbilt and Kentucky just elevated. The commodores upset #1 ranked Alabama on Saturday night 40-35, earning their first top-five win in program history. Both Kentucky and Vanderbilt are now coming off of top-ten victories.
The wildcats were on a bye this week. However the week prior, the cats earned themselves a ranked win over #6 Ole Miss, 20-17.
Additionally, both teams have come close to victories over other ranked opponents this season. Kentucky fell just one point short of beating #1 Georgia on September 14th, and Vanderbilt sent #7 Missouri into double overtime back on September 21st, ultimately falling 30-27.
The cats and the commodores are both 3-2 on the year.
