A man who was shot by a woman as he allegedly tried to break into her daughter’s bedroom in South Shore has been charged, according to Chicago police.
Christopher Grady, 36, was charged attempted burglary, which is a felony, police said.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 2300 block of East 69th Street about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, where they found Grady, 36, shot in the leg.
The 911 caller told police that Grady attempted to crawl through her daughter’s bedroom window, according to a police report obtained by the Sun-Times.
The woman then went outside to her rear porch and told Grady to stop and that she had a gun, according to the police report. When he continued climbing through the window, the woman, who holds a CCL and FOID card, opened fire, the report said.
Grady was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, police said.
Grady, of South Shore, was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
