A 63-year-old Conway man was killed in a traffic accident in North Little Rock Sunday afternoon, the North Little Rock Police Department announced Tuesday.
James Burgess was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in the area of 10000 Crystal Hill Rd., near De Wafelbakkers, a food manufacturer.
The driver of the other vehicle, 31-year-old Hayley Strozyk, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
North Little Rock police officers were dispatched the scene at about 5:14 p.m. and later determined Strozyk was at fault. Strozyk “failed to negotiate a turn causing her vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the parked vehicle occupied by James Burgess,” according to a department press release.
North Little Rock police are investigating the accident and will consult with the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office “to determine what criminal charges will be pursued” in the case, the press release said.
