One person has been injured after an explosion at the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid, police sources say.
The blast occurred when an embassy employee was “handling a letter,” according to the AFP news agency.
The man was only slightly injured but has reportedly gone to hospital.
Spanish police have activated the anti-terrorist protocol and have cordoned off the area where the Ukrainian embassy is located in the northeast of the Spanish capital.
Forensic police are also said to be participating in the investigation. The embassy itself has not yet commented on the incident.
