SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The second weekend of September has arrived, meaning it’s now or never when it comes to making those final memories for summer 2024.
From music concerts to foodie events and so much more, here are five things to do in San Diego County this weekend:
Take a self-guided “foodie tour” that stretches out over 16 square city blocks in the Gaslamp Quarter this Saturday. Over 20 local restaurants will be participating in the event. Some highlights include gourmet food tastings, craft cocktails, as well an exclusive afterparty. Tickets to the event can be purchased online.
According to the event’s organizers, this moon festival is a traditional East Asian celebration marked by the full harvest moon, which symbolizes completeness and reunion. Attendees will be invited to make their own moon pies on site. There will also be free lanterns, traditional dance and cultural entertainment, along with arts and crafts. This free event takes place Saturday at Officer Jeremy Henwood Memorial Park.
Head to Ruocco Park in downtown San Diego Saturday to celebrate and experience all things Brazilian. There will be several food and art vendors, as well as a kid zone. Attendees can also expect live performances Saulo Fernandes, Calisamba, Luanda Massape, and many more. Tickets are on sale for $21.05.
American Motown singing group The Temptations will be hitting the stage at Humphrey’s by the Bay Sunday evening. The Detroit-formed band is known for its doo-wop, soul, psychedelia, funk, disco and R ‘n’ B sounds. As of Friday, tickets to the show still remained on sale, which is rare for a venue like Humphrey’s. Grab tickets while you can.
This historic festival will feature live entertainment, local artisan vendors, food, a kid’s fun zone, historic displays, animal encounters, along with local wines and beer. There will also be grape stomping for all ages. This event takes place Saturday at Grape Day Park in Escondido.
Have a good weekend, San Diego.
