DENVER (KDVR) — Aurora police are investigating a shooting involving officers in the City Center neighborhood Monday morning.
According to an X post from the Aurora Police Department, officers were investigating a “suspicious occurrence” in the 1000 block of S. Elkhart Way at about 3:15 a.m. The area is in a neighborhood south of Settler’s Park.
The department said police “contacted” a male and shots were fired by the officers. The male was taken to a local hospital, and no officers were injured.
Very little information was immediately made available by the department. It is unclear if the suspect was armed and what the extent of his injuries are.
The investigation is ongoing, and a public information officer is headed to the scene. The 18th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team will conduct an independent investigation.
