🗳️ The redevelopment of Amsterdam Walk by Portman Holdings is heading to the Atlanta City Council later this month.
But before the council votes on April 21, community members are continuing to organize against the proposal in the hopes of thwarting a project they believe to be “massive” and “wildly unpopular.”
According to members of the organization “A Better Amsterdam Walk,” the size of the proposed development – nine stories with 1,100 rental units – is far too large for the nearly 11-acre site off Monroe Drive.

3. A new mural tells the story of Augusta National’s Black caddies
⛳ In Augusta’s Sand Hills neighborhood, a 25-foot-long, 1,200-pound golf tee sculpture is the latest piece of Masters history.
Along the tee, you’ll find faces of legendary Black caddies like Willie Peterson Jr., Edwin B. McCoy Jr., and Willie “Pappy” Stokes – the “Godfather of Caddies.”
Until 1983, club policy dictated only local Black men could work as caddies. This mural, painted by artist Baruti Tucker, is meant to honor those caddies’ legacy.
